Ecuador AT A GLANCE
Mission Trip
Most Ecuadorians are descendants of Spanish colonists and indigenous Indians, while many still make up various indigenous Indian groups that hold to the dress and culture of their forefathers. About 77% of Ecuadorians identify as Roman Catholic and about 11% as evangelical believers—but the number of evangelicals is growing thanks to the efforts of missionaries and national pastors efforts.
Our Journey Ecuador interns will have the opportunity to serve in the jungle with indigenous peoples, working with their hands while sharing their heart in a local church plant. Our interns will also have the opportunity to spend time in an urban setting with local church leaders and particpate in outreach events. This is a great way to see Ecuador, from a missional perspective, in several different settings, with different people groups and working alongside multi-national mission teams to collaborate together for God's glory.
Expect to spend some time living with missionaries and some time living in dorms with other interns as well as potentially with an Ecuadorian family.
Our vision is that you will find your calling in Christ, whether it is being a missionary in another country or a missionary at home.
